Taking IELTS from Mumbai

Mumbai has two IDP IELTS venues inside the city, in Andheri East and Lower Parel, and IDP lists further UKVI-approved centres in Navi Mumbai and Thane. That spread means most candidates in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region can choose a venue on their own side of the city rather than crossing it on test day.

Candidates here take IELTS for university study abroad, for work and migration routes, and for professional registration such as UK nursing. Check which version your goal needs before you book: universities and the NMC want IELTS Academic, Canada's Express Entry wants General Training, and UK visas need IELTS for UKVI.

Plan practice around your commute

Long train and road journeys eat into study time. Short daily sessions on your phone (vocabulary drills, a Speaking Part 2 answer) plus one longer timed session at the weekend keep you moving without needing a fixed class time.

Prepare online from Mumbai

Start with a timed mock test to find your weakest skills, then practise them with the AI Writing Evaluator and AI Speaking Evaluator, and keep building range with the free vocabulary drills. The study plan generator turns your test date into a day-by-day plan. Scores and feedback from these tools are estimates to guide your practice, not official IELTS results.
